Filming of "Golden Empire," a historical series marking the 800th anniversary of Ulus Zhoshi Khan, will start in Kazakhstan next month, reports Orda.kz.
The project's final details were confirmed at a creative team meeting in Istanbul on January 14.
The international cast includes 350 actors, 250 from Kazakhstan and 100 from countries such as Sweden, Belgium, England, Germany, the USA, and Mongolia. Additional casting for supporting roles is ongoing.

Director and general producer Emre Sahin was impressed by Kazakhstan's diverse locations and decided to film all the scenes there.
The script, co-written by Justin Pollard (Vikings), Claire Moors (Outlaw King), and Kazakh historians, draws from historical records of the Ulus Zhoshi, the Golden Horde, and nomadic cultures.
