Interior Ministry Won't Publish Domestic Violence Offenders Map, Citing Privacy

The Ministry of Internal Affairs has explained its decision against publishing a map of domestic violence offenders despite having 10,000 people registered nationwide under protective orders, reports Orda.kz.

There is personal data and privacy. And we do not plan to publish this information yet,stated Renat Zulkhairov, Deputy Chair of the Administrative Police Committee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, during a briefing.

Zulkhairov noted the existence of a new police unit dedicated to working with domestic violence victims, staffed predominantly by women.
