India's imports of Russian crude are expected to reach 2.15 million barrels per day in April — the highest level since May 2023, Orda.kz reports, citing Bloomberg.
Bloomberg made the report on April 22, citing data from Kpler.
Russian oil flows appear to be recovering after months of disruptions linked to U.S. sanctions targeting Moscow’s fossil fuel exports.
India, the world’s third-largest oil importer, has become the primary buyer of Russian oil products, benefiting from discounted prices amid sanctions that have largely blocked Russian exports to Western markets.
Russia has remained India’s top oil supplier for the third consecutive year, Reuters noted on April 22.
