Indian real estate firm Mont Vert Group will invest $500 million in the development of a major healthcare and education project in Kazakhstan, Orda.kz reports.
The initiative includes the construction of a medical university for 10,000 students and a multidisciplinary hospital with 1,000 beds, with sites planned in both Astana and Almaty.
The facilities will span a combined 343 hectares and are part of a partnership with Kazakhstan’s Big B Corporation, KAZIND Medical Group, and the international SRAM & MRAM Group. The aim is to create a regional center for medical education and healthcare services catering to Central Asia as well as Kazakhstan.
Mont Vert Group, known for large-scale commercial and residential developments in India, will fully fund the project. The company says the venture is expected to raise the level of medical education and healthcare in the region.
The announcement comes amid rising healthcare costs in Kazakhstan.
As previously reported, spending on medical services — including hospital care and dentistry — has surged by a third, outpacing income growth.
