Independence Day: Russian President Not among Those Sending Telegrams to Toqayev

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy congratulated the President of Kazakhstan on Independence Day. 

However, there was no telegram from Russian leader Vladimir Putin on Aqorda's site, Orda reports.

On December 17, the Aqorda website listed heads of state and international organizations who sent congratulatory telegrams to Kazakhstan's President, Qasym-Jomart Toqayev.

Leaders of Central Asian countries are mentioned.

Among the first to congratulate were the presidents of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedow, and Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov. 

The latter noted in his telegram:

I firmly believe that the relationship between our countries, formed on the basis of centuries-old friendship, good neighborliness, and strategic partnership, will continue to strengthen.

Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow, the head of the Halk Maslakhaty of Turkmenistan, also conveyed his congratulations.

Other heads of state and international organizations, including the leaders of Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Libya, Palestine, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, are indicated.

Aqorda also mentions congratulations from CIS Secretary General Sergei Lebedev and Tatarstan leader Rustam Minnikhanov.

The other day, Vladimir Putin received Nursultan Nazarbayev, the first president of Kazakhstan, at his residence in Novo-Ogaryovo.

Orda.kz tried to contact Toqayev's press secretary, Berik Uali, to find out whether Putin sent a congratulatory telegram. 

There has been no response yet.
