Incident at Jezkazgan Mine Claims Worker's Life

A worker born in 1985 died at the Annenskaya mine of the East Jezkazgan mine, Orda.kz reports.
The incident was confirmed by the Kazakhmys corporation, which has established a special commission to investigate the circumstances.
The cause of death remains under investigation.
The management and staff of Kazakhmys offer sincere and deep condolences to the relatives and friends of the deceased. His family will be provided with all necessary assistance, payments stipulated by the collective agreement, including funeral expenses, the company commented.
An investigative team, along with Ulytau Region Police Department leadership, is conducting site inspections and gathering evidence at the mine.
The police department of the city of Satpayev has opened a criminal case under Article 156, Part 3 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan (Violation of labor safety rules resulting in the death of a person through negligence) regarding the fatal industrial injury at the Annenskaya mine, stated the Ulytau regional police department.
