In Shardara, Turkistan Region — home to over 31,000 people — a critical water supply issue had been unfolding for several days. Recently, the Turkistan Region Akim's press service informed Orda.kz that the water supply problems have now been resolved.
Officials explained that the disruption was short-term and caused by a temporary drop in the water level of the Shardara reservoir. To address the issue, an operational headquarters was set up, round-the-clock monitoring was organized, and a hotline was opened for residents.
The water supply was restored in the shortest possible time. Water began to flow to the most important social facilities, including hospitals and multi-story buildings, on a priority basis, the Turkistan Region Akim's press service reported.

To resolve the low pressure and insufficient volume in the water supply system, an additional pump was installed at the first main waterworks facility, and a 200mm polyethylene water pipeline was put into operation.
Already on August 6 at 20:50, the second pump was successfully put into operation, with the help of which water is supplied from the Shardara reservoir to the main waterworks facility of the city. As of today, the water supply has been fully restored in all microdistricts of Shardara. For the purpose of prevention and ensuring an uninterrupted water supply in residential areas, 28 additional reservoirs for collecting water have been installed. In addition, 10 special water trucks operate around the clock, the press service stated.
Owners of wells and water trucks were asked not to raise prices, with relevant agreements put in place.
As of now, officials say that water is being supplied to all residential areas of the city.
