The discussions centered on international and regional security, including developments in Central Asia, Syria, and Afghanistan.
Toqayev highlighted the significance of Shoigu's visit, noting that bilateral cooperation is on an upward trajectory.
He referenced Russian President Vladimir Putin's state visit to Kazakhstan last November and praised the progress of joint economic initiatives.
It is very important that economic cooperation between our countries is developing successfully. We have reached agreements on 171 projects, of which more than 50 are already in the final stage of implementation. Russia is one of the main investors in the Kazakh economy, the Head of State said.
Shoigu emphasized Kazakhstan's traditionally strong relations with Russia, noting that their collaboration extends beyond bilateral ties to include participation in international organizations such as the SCO, CSTO, CIS, and EAEU.
The volume of trade turnover and our joint projects is impressive. We are actively working in international structures, and the initiatives put forward by Kazakhstan are actively developing, stated the secretary of the Russian Security Council.
