The average salary has risen to 473,000 tenge, but the picture is distorted by high incomes in certain industries, Orda.kz reports.
The average salary in Kazakhstan at the end of the fourth quarter of 2025 amounted to 473,158 tenge. It increased by 8.8% over the year. But this figure says little about the real incomes of the majority. A more honest indicator is the median salary. It amounted to 339,912 tenge. This means that half of Kazakhstanis earn less than this amount. The difference between the average and median salary is 133,000 tenge. The average is pulled up by high incomes in certain industries.
The highest salaries are in the financial sector — about 987,000 tenge. In second place are IT and communications — 883,000. In industry, they pay 691,000 tenge, in transport — 641,000, and in construction — 566,000.
In the social sector, the picture is different. Teachers receive 329,000 tenge, and doctors 353,000. This is three times less than financiers earn.
Agriculture showed the most noticeable growth over the year — wages increased by 25.9%, to 374,000 tenge. But even after such a jump, the sector still lags behind industry and IT.
