Gulmira Satybaldy Given 7 years
Gulmira Satybaldy was sentenced to 7 years in prison, Madi Batyrshayev - seven years, Rashid Utebekov – five years.
The criminal trial against Gulmira Satybalda has ended in the Baikonur District Court No. 2 of Astana. She was sentenced to seven years in prison, an Orda correspondent reports.
Madi Batyrshayev received seven years in prison, Rashid Utebekov – five years in prison. Gulmira Satybaldy and Madi Batyrshayev were convicted of arbitrariness and kidnapping, and Rashid Utebekov – only under the article on kidnapping.
All of them will serve their sentences in a medium-security penal system institution.
Depriving Satybalda of the state award – the Order of "Kurmet" had also been put forth.
Prosecutor Azamat Sarsembayev requested eight years of imprisonment without confiscation of property for Gulmira Satybalda, seven years and six months for Madi Batyrshayev and seven years for Rashid Utebekov.
Tursengali Alaguzov's civil claim for the recovery of the amount of moral and material damage has been partially satisfied. Authorities will recover material damage in favor of Alaguzov in the amount of 6 billion 584 million 244 thousand KZT. They will do this by returning 43.25% of the shares of Galanz Bottlers JSC. Satybaldy will also reimburse one million KZT for moral damage.
In connection with the mediation agreement concluded with Aigul Mekesheva, the proceedings on her civil claim have been terminated. In this instance, the state prosecution asked in solidarity to recover from Satybaldy and Batyrshayev material damage and partially moral damage in the amount of 713 million 809 thousand 780 KZT.
Gulmira Satybaldy was detained by Antikor employees on March 16, 2022. Satybaldy is an affiliated person in JSC "BAUR Kazakhstan" and JSC "MAG". She is the sister of the wife of businessman Abay Zhunusov. The latter, according to KASE data, owned 25% of shares in JSC "MAG". However, now there are no securities of the issuer in the exchange's lists.
In early September, Antikor reported that Nazarbayev's former in-law, Gulmira Satybaldy, and her entourage were suspected of raiding companies, as well as kidnapping and unlawful confinement.
Earlier, Orda.kz wrote that on May 3, the defendants, Madi Batyrshaev and Rashid Utebekov, gave their final statements in court. Batyrshaev pleaded guilty and asked to commute the sentence without depriving him of his freedom. Utebekov apologized to the affected party, Aigul Mekesheva, the owner of Maxi Bottlers, for the psychological trauma he inflicted on her.
Gulmira Satybaldy also partially admitted her guilt.
