A high-ranking judge in Kazakhstan's western Mangystau region has been removed from office following grave breaches of judicial conduct, Orda reports.
The Supreme Judicial Council of Kazakhstan confirmed, responding to Orda's inquiry, that Yerbol Rakhimbekov was dismissed for what they termed dishonest behavior.
The violation was committed by the judge due to his dishonesty or negligence. By the decision of the jury of November 26, 2024, Rakhimbekov E. M. was brought to disciplinary liability for gross violation of the law during the consideration of a criminal case with the application of a penalty in the form of dismissal from office by termination of powers of the chair of the Mangistau Regional Court, the Supreme Judicial Council stated.
Orda.kz had previously reported in early December 2024 about his potential departure.
