First Deputy Prime Minister Roman Sklyar reported on preparations for the heating season on September 15, Orda.kz writes.
The coal stock at warehouses stands at 4.8 million tons, six percent more than last year, along with 128.5 thousand tons of fuel oil — 30% more than a year earlier. The total demand for coal this winter is 7.7 million tons, with 4.2 million tons (55%) already prepared in the regions.
So far, 100% of educational facilities, 96% of healthcare facilities, 91% of residential buildings, and over 93% of autonomous boiler facilities have been readied.
“At the same time, there are risks of untimely completion of work on heating networks in Stepnogorsk, Oral, Jitiqara, Petropavlovsk and on boiler houses in Ayagoz and Satpayev,” Sklyar said.
Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov instructed regional leaders to keep “strict oversight” of repairs.
But the acceleration should not affect the quality. In case of non-fulfillment, appropriate conclusions will be made. This also applies to all other regions — it is necessary to start the heating season on time, he said.
The heating season began in Pavlodar on September 10, first supplying schools, nurseries, and hospitals.
Residential buildings will be connected once the average daily temperature remains below +10 °C for three consecutive days.
