Salome Zourabichvili has announced she will continue serving as Georgia's President, Orda reports, citing 1tv.ge.
Zourabichvili denounced both the current government and parliament as illegitimate, claiming they "stole the elections" and that "the country is at a standstill." She criticized the concentration of power, stating that a single party controls all state institutions.
The December 14 election saw Mikhail Kavelashvili of the Georgian Dream party win an uncontested race.
Zourabichvili has dismissed the election, stating that "no one elected anyone."
Zourabichvili announced plans to attend Donald Trump's inauguration in Washington, where she intends to hold high-level meetings.
She emphasized Georgia's need for international partners to help resolve the current crisis.
