Gas Theft Ring Uncovered in Aqtobe: Law Enforcement Seizes Train with Stolen Fuel

An organized crime group that stole gas was caught in the Aqtobe region, Orda reports.
The special operation to expose it was carried out by officers from several law enforcement agencies - the National Security Committee, the police, and the Prosecutor's Office.
The blue fuel was stolen directly from the field by employees of a gas production company.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs has not disclosed the specific company involved.
They organized a scheme to steal 'social' gas from the territory of the field in the specified region. Using measuring devices and fuel storage tanks, they formed unaccounted gas. Then they sold it by rail,Kuandyk Alpys, a representative of the Department for Combating Organized Crime of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, provided details.
The organized crime group was caught during the departure of a train carrying the stolen gas from the field. The train contained 12 railcars of fuel. The total damage is still being assessed.
Authorities have ordered examinations and initiated an investigation.
