Fabrice Neveu, who has served as French Consul General in Almaty since August 2022, has announced the completion of his mission, Orda.kz reports.
Neveu made the announcement on his Instagram page, writing:
Three years have passed at incredible speed, but they will remain etched in my memory as among the richest and most beautiful.
Appointed Consul General in August 2022, Neveu’s career history on LinkedIn shows this was his first role in professional diplomacy, although he had previously worked in international relations, including at the French Ministry of Defense.
I am leaving with immense emotion and infinite gratitude, but also with the certainty that our ties will continue. I sincerely hope to return to Almaty soon, to see this beloved city again and, above all, to see you once more, the former consul added.
His successor has not yet been announced.
Meanwhile, last week President Qasym-Jomart Toqayev received the letters of credence from several ambassadors, including the new heads of mission from Ukraine — Viktor Mayko, the United Kingdom — Sally Jane Axworthy, and Georgia — Levan Diasamidze.
