Four Injured in Industrial Incident at KazAzot Plant

An accident occurred on July 18 at the KazAzot plant in Mangystau Region, injuring four workers, Orda.kz reports.
According to the regional Akimat, all four employees sustained thermal burns. Two are currently in intensive care, while the other two are being treated in the trauma unit. Their condition is described as stable.
The company has pledged to support the victims. Local authorities say the situation is under control.
Leading specialists in burn medicine and the chief anesthesiologist of Kazakhstan have been brought in to assist the injured,
the statement noted.
The incident may have resulted from safety violations during fire-related work in a confined space. The labor inspection department reported that the work was carried out without the required permits.
Police have launched a criminal case under Article 156 of the Criminal Code — violation of occupational safety rules. A special commission is investigating the incident.
