Former KNB Chief Massimov's House Fails to Sell at Auction
The house that belonged to the former National Security Committee (KNB) head, Karim Massimov, could not be sold at auction, Orda reports.
The starting price of the mansion was 1.8 billion tenge, Orda.kz reports. There were no buyers, the company managing the recovered assets reported.

The residential building with a basement is located in the Nura area; the total area is 2,877.7 sq. m. Along with the house, a land plot of more than 1.2 hectares, as well as furniture, souvenirs, and elite collectibles, are up for sale.
The auction will now likely be re-announced with a possible reduction in the starting price.
Karim Massimov was sentenced to 18 years over three counts: treason, violent seizure of power, abuse of power and official authority.
The house was confiscated after Massimov's arrest in 2022. At that time, $17.2 million in cash, collectible watches, gold bars, and antiques were seized from the mansion.
