Barmenkulov stepped down as head of the Kazakhstan Football Federation (KFF) in December 2024, Orda reports.
On March 4, it was revealed that a pre-trial investigation had been launched against him.
A pre-trial investigation has been launched against the former leadership of the Kazakhstan Football Federation, stated the Agency for Financial Monitoring (FMA).
The agency did not specify which article of law prompted the investigation or its nature. In July last year, reports emerged that Adilet Barmenkulov was under UEFA investigation regarding match-fixing allegations.
The leadership of the Kazakhstan Football Federation, including its president, was replaced in late December 2024. Marat Omarov, head of AZRK, succeeded Adilet Barmenkulov as federation president.
One month following Barmenkulov's resignation, Stanislav Cherchesov resigned as head coach of Kazakhstan's national football team.
