On August 29, the Nikulinsky District Court of Moscow placed Stanislav Alymov, former general director of the Motor Design Bureau, under arrest, Orda.kz reports.
Alymov is accused of large-scale fraud under Part 4 of Article 159 of the Russian Criminal Code. While investigators have not disclosed details, Russian media link the case to a contract for the supply of machine tools for the bureau.
The Motor Design Bureau, founded in 1961, develops ground-based technology for space launches, including rocket refueling, maintenance, docking, and transport systems.
Its equipment has been used at Baikonur, Plesetsk, Vostochny, and the Kourou Cosmodrome in French Guiana, serving projects from Proton and Soyuz to the Energia-Buran system.
Since 2008, the bureau has been part of JSC TsENKI, the parent company behind the Baiterek rocket system.
