Former Football Federation Head Issues Statement regarding Investigation
Former head of the Kazakhstan Football Federation, Adilet Barmenkulov, has issued an official statement in response to the ongoing investigation by the Financial Monitoring Agency (FMA), Orda.kz reports.
Barmenkulov emphasized that he is prepared to defend his reputation and urged that his name not be linked to any alleged wrongdoing within the federation.
The Financial Monitoring Agency is conducting a pre-trial investigation, including based on the results of the inspection by the Prosecutor General's Office, in the Kazakhstan Football Federation and a number of football clubs. Premature conclusions and mentioning my name in connection with the alleged violations are unfounded. I ask the media and authors of various blogs and publics not to mislead the public and refrain from spreading far-fetched assumptions.
The Prosecutor General’s Office recently published findings from its inspection of the Kazakhstan Football Federation and several clubs, including Ordabasy, Aqtobe, and Jetisu.
The audit uncovered violations totaling three billion tenge, citing ineffective use of funds, embezzlement, inflated bonuses, and questionable financial transactions.
