Kazakhstanis can now fly directly from Almaty to the shores of the Persian Gulf — new direct flights to Bahrain’s capital, Manama, have been launched, Orda.kz reports.
According to the Civil Aviation Committee (CAC), starting June 5, low-cost airline Fly Arystan will operate seasonal flights from Almaty to Manama, the capital of this island nation in the Middle East. Flights will run once a week.
The launch of direct flights to Bahrain will support the further development of tourism, cultural exchange, and trade and economic cooperation between the two countries, the CAC stated.
Bahrain is a small island nation in the Middle East, consisting of an archipelago of 51 natural and 33 artificial islands. Its largest island — also called Bahrain — accounts for around 83% of the country’s territory.
Geographically, it lies between Qatar and the northeastern coast of Saudi Arabia.
With an area of just 780 square kilometers, Bahrain is the third smallest country in Asia, after the Maldives and Singapore.
