Flood Peak Passes in Several Regions

The peak of the spring flood has passed in the Aqtobe, Qostanay, and West Kazakhstan regions, according to the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation, Orda.kz reports.
The Ministry stated that active water discharge is underway from major reservoirs in the northern, eastern, and central parts of the country to manage and absorb incoming floodwaters safely.
Current discharge volumes by region are as follows:
Aqmola Region:
- Astana Reservoir – 53 m³/s
- Seletin Reservoir – 41.7 m³/s
- Chaglin Reservoir – 7.5 m³/s
East Kazakhstan Region:
- Oskemen Reservoir – 450 m³/s
- Bukhtarma Reservoir – 465 m³/s
Abay Region:
- Shulbinskoye Reservoir – 2,100 m³/s
Qaraganda Region:
- Intumak Reservoir – 8 m³/s
- Samarkand Reservoir – 2 m³/s
Ulytau Region:
- Kengir Reservoir – 81.4 m³/s
North Kazakhstan Region:
- Sergeevskoye Reservoir – 643.3 m³/s
- Petropavlovsk Reservoir – 1,348 m³/s
Authorities continue to monitor water levels closely as reservoir discharges help regulate flows and prevent downstream flooding.
