Flight Recorders from AZAL Crash Arrive from Brazil

Kazakhstan has received two flight recorders (black boxes - Ed.) from Brazil to aid in investigating last month's plane crash near Aqtau, Orda reports.
The delivery of the black boxes was confirmed to RIA Novosti by Kazakhstan's Prosecutor General's Office.
In accordance with the Chicago Commission on International Civil Aviation of 7.12.1944 and other international standards, the flight recorders were received from the Brazilian side and transferred to the commission for an opinion. To ensure completeness and comprehensiveness of the case, the necessary investigative operational measures are currently being carried out. Within the framework of legal cooperation, international assignments were sent to Azerbaijan and the Russian Federation, stated in the statement of the supervisory authority.
The crash occurred on December 25, 2024, when an Embraer 190 aircraft manufactured in Brazil crashed near Aqtau en route from Baku to Grozny.
Of the 67 people aboard - 62 passengers and five crew members - 29 survived the accident.
