First Deputy PM Roman Sklyar and CNPC President Discuss Oil and Gas Cooperation

Kazakhstan’s First Deputy Prime Minister Roman Sklyar held a working meeting with Hou Qijun, President of the China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC), with the primary focus on expanding bilateral cooperation in the oil and gas sector, Orda.kz reports.
The talks covered the implementation of joint projects in Kazakhstan, including the modernization of oil refining facilities, field development, stable operations of enterprises, growth of the petrochemical sector, and ensuring a reliable energy supply.
Hou Qijun expressed readiness to continue close cooperation through the introduction of advanced technologies and the development of mutually beneficial projects. Following the meeting, both sides agreed to strengthen their partnership within the framework of the intergovernmental commission and the Belt and Road Initiative.
