Film Critic Anton Dolin's Lecture in Almaty Facing Difficulties

At the last moment, the scheduled venue for Anton Dolin's lecture announced that it was impossible to hold the event. The organizers had to move the meeting with Anton Dolin to another location a few hours before the lecture.
People hoping to attend received messages by email. In Almaty, Anton Dolin, recognized as a foreign agent in Russia, was supposed to speak at the SmArt Point on Baizakov Street, 280.
After the cancellation, the event was moved to Zhest Club.
Anton Dolin's lecture will take place at the same time, but in a different place. Unfortunately, at the last moment the venue refused to allow us to hold the event, citing technical difficulties, a letter from Somewhere Show Team, the event organizer, specified.
The film critic will present his new book, “Bad Russians. Cinema from Brat to Slova Patsana," in Kazakhstan.
He has been scheduled to speak in Almaty on November 28 and Astana on December 1.
In the book, Anton Dolin examines contemporary Russian cinema and discusses why Danila Bagrov and Sasha Bely have become national Russian heroes.
The Russian Ministry of Justice has declared Anton Dolin a foreign agent. After the war in Ukraine began, the film critic left the country and has repeatedly expressed his anti-war position.
This is not the first Russian media personality whose performance in Kazakhstan has faced the risk of cancellation.
