Expert Questions Reuters Report on Putin Viewing Key War Goals as Met

Vladimir Putin believes Russia has achieved primary objectives in Ukraine, including securing a land bridge to Crimea and degrading Ukraine's military capabilities, Orda reports, citing Reuters.
The media's sources also indicate Putin is concerned about the war's economic toll on Russia.
However, as noted by Tatiana Stanovaya, a senior fellow at the Carnegie Russia Eurasia Center and founder of R.Politik, this likely oversimplifies Putin's position.
She believes that stopping the war now would potentially accelerate Ukraine's NATO integration and military rebuilding - what Putin aimed to prevent.
The expert also points out that his stated goal of ending what he terms the "anti-Russia project" in Ukraine remains unfulfilled.
While Russia faces economic challenges, the expert notes that these pressures alone are unlikely to force a change in Putin's Ukraine strategy, which he views as existential to Russia's future.
