Exhibition "Unofficial City Chronicles:" A Pictorial Chronicle of Almaty
Saule Suleimenova opened the series of exhibitions. Today, she is better known for her collages from cellophane bags and plastic, but she started with urban landscapes. Hence the name – “Unofficial City Chronicles.”
Now, these paintings are already indeed perceived as an Almaty chronicle. There are only ten at the exhibition – not many, but they fit well into the minimalist space.

The exhibition location is the Almaty City Design School (abbreviated ACDS—Almaty City Design School). ACDS is an annual multidisciplinary course for students of various training levels.
The courses have three areas: communication design - signs, pointers, in other words, how the city talks to us; industrial design - benches, lamps, bus stops and other city objects; and urban design - how to give each district of the city a look (specialists even have a special beautiful term for this - vernacular). Also, we will regularly introduce city residents to the work of designers and contemporary artists who 'talk to the city,' says ACDS co-founder Aelita Zhumaeva.

The exhibition "Unofficial City Chronicles" will last until November 21.
