British police have detained King Charles III’s brother, Prince Andrew, Orda.kz reports
He is suspected of misconduct in public office.
«As part of the investigation, we arrested a man in Norfolk today on suspicion of misconduct in public office and are conducting searches at addresses in Berkshire and Norfolk. The man is currently in police custody,»Thames Valley Police said
The Telegraph reported that six unmarked police vehicles and about eight plainclothes officers arrived at Andrew’s home on the Sandringham estate in Norfolk.
Investigators are examining a complaint alleging that the prince passed confidential documents to Jeffrey Epstein. U.S. materials linked to the Epstein case claim Andrew sent reports on trips to Singapore, Hong Kong and Vietnam and shared details of investment opportunities. Police are consulting with the Crown Prosecution Service.
Separately, Andrew has been accused of sexual assault by Virginia Giuffre. Media reports said he paid her compensation in March 2022, after which the proceedings were terminated. He did not admit guilt. In April 2025, Giuffre was found dead at her home in Western Australia.
The scandal over Andrew’s ties to Epstein has continued for several years. Last year, Charles III stripped his brother of all titles and demanded he leave his Windsor residence. Andrew turned 66 today.
Jeffrey Epstein pleaded guilty in 2008 to charges related to procuring minors for prostitution and served about 13 months in prison. In July 2019, he was arrested again on federal charges of sex trafficking of minors. In August 2019, he died by suicide in his prison cell. His associate Ghislaine Maxwell was sentenced to 20 years in prison.
Earlier, Orda.kz reported that Timur Kulibayev bought the Sunninghill Park mansion from Prince Andrew for £15 million. A BBC investigation said part of the money allegedly moved through offshore structures and lawyers pointed to «red flags.» Kulibayev’s lawyers said he repaid the loan with interest and did not break the law.
