European Bank Shows Interest in Acquiring Kazakhstani Bank

A European bank has expressed interest in purchasing a Kazakhstani one, Orda.kz reports.
The parties involved have not been disclosed.
Madina Abylkasymova, Chair of the Agency for Regulation and Development of the Financial Market, confirmed the information on the sidelines of the Majilis but declined to name the institutions.
We do have such information, but it remains confidential between commercial entities. As a regulator, we cannot disclose it. Once an agreement is reached, I believe the banks themselves will make an announcement,
said Abylkasymova.
