Eurasian Bank, controlled by one of Kazakhstan’s wealthiest businessmen and ERG General Director Shukhrat Ibragimov, paid its board members more than one billion tenge in 2024, Orda.kz reports.
According to disclosures published on the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange website, the bank transferred a total of 1.082 billion tenge in salaries, bonuses, and other payments to its executive body over the year. This figure reflects all compensation received by top managers.
The executive board of Eurasian Bank has seven members: chairperson Lyazzat Satieva, deputies Sabyrzhan Bekbosunov, Erlanbek Kappar, Gaziz Yermekov, Ibragim Altamirov, Askar Khamidullin, and Ainagul Dauletbayeva. Even if distributed evenly, the average monthly compensation for each executive amounts to roughly 12.8 million tenge.
Separately, the bank’s board of directors, which is not formally an executive body, has five members led by Shukhrat Ibragimov, a key ERG shareholder ranked seventh on Forbes Kazakhstan’s list of the country’s richest people.
In May, reports suggested Ibragimov was seeking greater control over ERG, vying with other co-owners for sole management of the corporation.
