EU Extends Sanctions Against Russia for Another Six Months

EU Foreign Ministers unanimously supported the extension of sanctions against Russia, Orda reports, citing EU Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas on Twitter.

Meanwhile, Hungary backed down on its intentions to veto the extension.
Last week, Prime Minister Viktor Orban announced such intentions, demanding that the EU secure Kyiv's resumption of Russian gas transit to Europe.
Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto wrote on his Facebook page that Budapest "received energy security guarantees."
He added that the EU would seek guarantees from Ukraine to maintain oil supplies.
