Embezzlement Revealed in Aqtobe Region Nurseries

In Khromtau and Mugalzhar districts, budget fund embezzlement in nurseries was discovered, Orda.kz reports, citing the Aqtobe region Prosecutor's Office.
The finances were misappropriated through illegal bonuses. Applications for budgetary financing were inflated, and orders for bonuses for kindergarten directors were changed with increasing amounts.
The embezzlement amounted to more than 240 million tenge.
The fraudulent schemes included transferring higher-than-average salaries, duplicating transfers, and fictitious business trips.
One accountant illegally issued inflated salaries, vacation pay, and travel expenses totaling more than 24 million tenge. The money was later transferred to the accountant's or the nursery head's accounts.
District prosecutors have launched pre-trial investigations against the former head of the district education department, three managers, and four accountants under the article on embezzlement or misappropriation on an especially large scale.
The Anti-Corruption Service is conducting investigations into all identified facts.
