A 32-year-old electrician suffered serious injuries after falling while descending from a high-voltage column at the Bogatyr Komir coal mine in Yekibastuz on August 2, Orda.kz reports.
The worker had been servicing the column and was finishing the job when the incident occurred. The Committee for State Labor Inspection has launched an investigation to determine whether safety protocols were followed.

said Ablay Sabirov, deputy head of the Committee’s Pavlodar regional department.
Earlier, Orda.kz reported that another Bogatyr Komir worker lost his sight in a workplace accident and received 5 million tenge in damages after a court found the company fully at fault.
