Education and healthcare account for about 40% of job postings from employers, Orda.kz reports, citing the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Experts from the Center for the Development of Labor Resources (CRTR) have published a forecast of job vacancies for 2025, based on data from the Enbek.kz electronic labor exchange for 2023–2024.
According to this data, the education and healthcare sectors accounted for around 40% of all officially posted vacancies.
Eight percent of vacancies are in the manufacturing industry, agriculture and trade, seven percent are in the construction industry,
the press service of the Ministry of Labor quoted Dmitry Shumekov, director of the CRTR forecasting department.
When examining skilled labor specifically, the share of vacancies in healthcare and education increases to 45%.
Meanwhile, manufacturing, which has been a frequent focus of development programs in recent years, accounts for just nine percent.
Among the qualified workers, the most frequently sought were secondary school teachers in social sciences, nursery teachers, nannies, caregivers and security guards,
Shumekov said.
However, in the blue-collar job segment, manufacturing accounts for a larger portion, 20%. The construction sector follows with 13%, while healthcare and education represent 11%.
In terms of geography, both national capitals led in the number of vacancies over the past two years: 10% were in Almaty and 9% in Astana.
The Qaraganda region came third with 8%. According to CRTR forecasts, Astana is expected to take the lead in 2025, with an estimated 102,000 job openings over the year. Almaty is projected to follow with 84,000, and the Turkistan region with 80,000.
Experts anticipate that between 1.09 and 1.25 million job postings will appear on the Enbek.kz portal in 2025.
