The company plans to offer a combined service covering ride-hailing, delivery, and satellite communication, Orda.kz reports, citing Bloomberg.
Veon Ltd., owner of the Beeline brand, intends to launch its own digital services ecosystem in Kazakhstan over the next year — including taxi, delivery, and digital financial services.
Veon has already acquired Kazakhstan’s branch of OLX. The company’s CEO, Kaan Terzioglu, said that the next step would be to launch a platform offering taxi, delivery, and digital financial services, with the first city for rollout expected to be one of Kazakhstan’s major centres, a decision to be made in the coming months.
Meanwhile, Veon is also negotiating with Starlink.
Kazakhstan is Veon’s third-largest revenue market, after Pakistan and Ukraine.
Existing players in Kazakhstan’s taxi market already face controversy. For example, Yandex GO controls about 90% of the market and is under antitrust investigation. Measures under discussion include lowering commissions, price caps, and algorithm/safety requirements.
