China's Commerce Ministry announced today that it will stop supplying 28 American defense contractors with dual-use materials, which can be used for civilian and military purposes.
The move aims to maintain national security and “fulfil international obligations including non-proliferation, Beijing’s Ministry of Commerce said on Thursday.
The ban affects some of America's largest defense companies, including:
- Boeing Defense, Space & Security
- Lockheed Martin Corporation
- Raytheon Missiles & Defense
- General Dynamics
The export controls restrict these companies from accessing certain Chinese materials and technologies that could potentially serve both military and civilian functions.
