Russian media and officials have reported overnight drone attacks on several regions of Russia in the early hours of June 6, Orda.kz reports, citing The Kyiv Independent.
According to Astra, in Michurinsk, Tambov Oblast, local Telegram channels cited residents who said a drone struck the JSC Progress Plant — a facility involved in the production of aviation and missile control systems, as well as equipment for the oil and gas industry. The strike reportedly hit one of the plant’s workshops, causing a fire.
Russian authorities have not officially commented. The same facility was previously targeted in December 2024.
In Saratov Oblast, an oil refinery in the city of Engels purportedly caught fire following a drone strike. The refinery has previously been linked to fuel supplies for the Engels-2 military airfield, and there have been previous strikes in the area as well.
Video shared by residents showed large fires in the area. Regional authorities confirmed that a fire broke out at an unspecified industrial site and that a residential building was damaged. No casualties were reported.
Saratov’s airport temporarily imposed flight restrictions due to the drone threat, as announced by Russia’s Federal Air Transport Agency.
In addition to Tambov and Saratov, reports of drone activity also came from Moscow, Tula, Belgorod, and Kaluga oblasts. The Kyiv Independent noted it could not independently verify these claims at the time of publication, Orda.kz has not been able to either.
