The journalist announced he was parting ways with the project on the Za Nami Uzhe Vyehali YouTube channel, Orda.kz reports.
Dmitry Dubovitsky confirmed that this was indeed his last appearance on the channel. He added that during the project's existence — more than seven years — it caught the attention of a significant audience who cared about what was happening in the country.
At the same time, he emphasized that he is far from pretentious statements, such as "the formation of a civil society within one YouTube project."
Asset Matayev, the head of KazTAG, will head Za Nami Uzhe Vyehali. Incidentally, He had previously acquired the media project HOLA News. Dubovitsky added that he considered other options for the project.
It was possible to close and mothball the project or hand it over to reliable hands. I was advised to meet Asset Matayev, who has serious management experience. Asset was interested in the idea - not just to continue the project, but to make it stronger, the journalist comments.
Dubovitsky noted that starting November 1, Matayev will be responsible for the project's policies. The journalist hopes this will preserve the project's philosophy.
We have never been radicals, neither right nor left, we tried to find the middle ground. It didn't always work out, but we tried. I hope that in the future 'Za Nami Uzhe Vyehali' will remain the same,Dubovitsky says.
Dubovitsky states that part of the team will continue working on the project, writing scripts, conducting interviews, filming, and editing, as they have been doing for seven years. Dubovitsky will remain only an observer and adviser.
I ask you to give the project a chance under Asset's leadership. I feel that he will be able to make everything even better, brighter, sleeker. And someday, looking at the success of the project, I will grumble, like, I was there from the begining, Dubovitsky assures.
He concluded that the project had changed his life considerably and thanked the viewers for their support, noting that he now plans to take a break and devote time to other projects.
In September 2023, the State Revenue Committee published a list of individuals and organizations receiving foreign funding. The journalist and co-founder of the YouTube channel "Za Nami Uzhe Vyehali" was on it.
