Minister of Digital Development, Innovation, and Aerospace Industry Zhaslan Madiyev commented on information from the Center for Analysis and Investigation of Cyberattacks (TSARKI), Orda reports.
It concerned bots on social networks.
At a press conference at Astana Hub, Zhaslan Madiyev said he discussed this case with the regional TikTok director.
They confirmed to me that the accounts that seemed to be bot farms are not connected to each other. They do not confirm that there are any coordinated actions of bots. I have this confirmation from TikTok specifically. They conducted an internal investigation and did not confirm there was coordinated work of bot farms. I cannot refute the TSARKI report, but I cannot confirm it either, said Zhaslan Madiyev.
At the same time, the Minister did not agree with the statement regarding Kazakhstan’s vulnerability to cyber-attacks.
There are cases of fraud all over the world, and the Internet platforms themselves: TikTok, Instagram, WhatsApp and Meta are combating bot farms, he added.
Speaking about Internet scammers, he emphasized that Kazakhstanis must be more careful.
