A two-day digital forum kicked off in Almaty on January 31, with artificial intelligence dominating the conversation, Orda.kz reports.
Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov announced plans to open Alem.AI, an artificial intelligence center in Astana, in 2025.
Digital Development Minister Zhaslan Madiyev later elaborated that the center, to be housed in the Nur Alem expo sphere, aims to train up to one million people over the next five years.
The forum showcased a diverse range of AI applications. The Institute of Space Technology demonstrated AI's role in processing satellite imagery, while the Ministry of Justice presented their digital judicial enforcement system.

A standout innovation was Oylan, dubbed the "Kazakh ChatGPT," developed by Nazarbayev University's Institute of Smart Systems and AI, featuring multilingual capabilities, including Kazakh language processing.
Among the business innovations, Awara IT Group revealed their development of AI-powered digital avatars for business executives.
At the same time, Taharqa Technologies displayed drones with neural networks capable of autonomous object detection and tracking.
The event also featured a startup alley with 80 young tech companies, drone soccer competitions, and a special appearance by English football legend Sol Campbell during AI-focused sessions.
The center's goal is to elevate innovative activity in the country, including educational initiatives for virtually all categories of citizens, Madiyev explained.
