Nurasyl Bolat, who violated probation control, sought to challenge a court decision, Orda.kz reports.
On December 3, the Almaty City Court held a hearing of the appeal panel on the case of Nurasyl Bolat, deputy Daulet Turlykhanov's son. A court of first instance replaced his probation with a custodial term.
As Orda.kz was informed by the press service of the Almaty City Court, Nurasyl Bolat will still be sent to a penal colony.
Bolat received this punishment for assaulting lawyers Oleg and Anna Chernov.
Bolat violated his probation twice: first, by attending a party to celebrate blogger Arai Isakova's birthday, and then the next morning by visiting a karaoke bar.
