Deputy Raises Issue of Quadrobers
Majilis deputy Dulat Mukayev sent a request to Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov requesting attention be paid to the growing quadrober subculture. In his opinion, it poses a threat to children and teenagers in Kazakhstan, Orda.kz reports.
Mukayev explained that quadrobers reject human identity and prefer to imitate animals. They walk on all fours, wear masks with animal faces, and imitate their sounds and behavior.
According to the deputy, attacks, such as squeezing, biting, and other actions imitating animals, have been documented and have already been seen in Russia and Uzbekistan.
'Alystan oylamagan, jaqynnan uayim tabady' - the wisdom of our people says: 'Who does not think ahead, will find trouble nearby.' This accurately describes the problem of quadrobers, which can lead to dangerous consequences, Mukayev stated.
Mukayev expressed concern that this may initially seem like a harmless game. Yet, such behavior has a negative impact on children's psyche and social development. In some Western countries, the subculture has already spread to such an extent that special events are organized, and items for imitating animals have become a profitable business.
He believes that it is necessary to establish oversight over this phenomenon, including monitoring social networks and measures to prevent its spread.
Legislative measures to combat this trend, including fines for parents, are being discussed in Russia and Uzbekistan. The deputy stressed that Kazakhstan must also thoroughly study the problem and take comprehensive measures to prevent it.
