Deputy Prosecutor General Comments on High-profile Cases

Deputy Prosecutor General of the Republic of Kazakhstan Galymzhan Koigeldiyev commented on the situation surrounding the investigation into a Qyzylorda schoolgirl's sexual exploitation and the high-profile Talgar homicide, Orda.kz reports.
He noted that the Prosecutor General supervises all crimes involving minors and regularly receives thorough reports on the progress of investigations.
These facts that we all read about concern the rights of both the child and the parents. All of this is of a very subtle nature, and, frankly speaking, I would suggest that journalists not dwell on or discuss these issues too much in the public space. All issues that concern suicides and abuse are under the personal supervision of the Prosecutor General. We aim to see them through to the end. he stated.
Koygeldiev also commented on the progress of the investigation into the homicide in the Talgar District.
According to him, the investigation is under control, and the suspects have already been detained and charged. Koygeldiev added that no criminal case has been opened against the victim's father, and the necessary examinations have been requested for the arson. The investigators' work is ongoing.
Meanwhile, Talgar has already undergone personnel changes. Several high-ranking police officers in the region were dismissed amid the high-profile case of 16-year-old Sherzat Polat.
The NoMolchi head, Dina Tansari, reported on the schoolgirl from Qyzylorda. Her classmates sexually exploited her. The foundation's representatives claim that the girl was exploited for several months and that teachers knew about it but ignored it.
An Orda.kz journalist went to Qyzylorda to investigate and learn what happened.
