First Deputy Minister of Defense Sultan Kamaletdinov addressed the discovery of drone fragments in the West Kazakhstan region, Orda.kz reports.
According to Kamaletdinov, the majority of unmanned aerial vehicles were discovered near a Russian military testing area.
More than 90% of unmanned aerial vehicles found in the territory of the West Kazakhstan region. They were located within the boundaries of the test site of the 926th main flight test center of the Russian Federation, said the Ministry of Defense representative.
The site, along with the surrounding airspace, is used by Russia for flight testing purposes.
"As I said, it is the Russian Federation. It is the one that launches and tests its unmanned aerial vehicles," Kamaletdinov added.
Following such incidents, the Ministry of Defense conducts official investigations in coordination with law enforcement and other relevant bodies.
In March, residents reported the discovery of debris from a fifth drone in the region.
