Former Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Imangali Tasmagambetov has been added to Ukraine’s “Peacemaker” (Myrotvorets) database, which accuses him of promoting war and supporting Russian aggression against Ukraine, Orda.kz reports.
The “Peacemaker” website, launched in August 2014, publishes information about individuals it believes have committed offenses against Ukraine.
Today, it included Tasmagambetov on its list.
Tasmagambetov has served as Secretary-General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) since January 2023. He previously held positions as Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, Akim of Atyrau Region, Almaty, and Astana, Minister of Defense, and Ambassador to Russia.
According to the website’s authors, Imangali Tasmagambetov “fully supports Russia's aggression against Ukraine”:
As the CSTO Secretary General, he was prepared to send the organization's troops to assist the Russian army. He justifies the Oreshnik missile strikes on Ukrainian territory. He is a shareholder in the Vyborg Shipyard and a member of the board of directors of KAMAZ. He also condemned Western arms supplies to Kyiv.
Tasmagambetov has often been described as “pro-Russian” due to previous public statements.
Responding to criticism, he said that such views about him come from “a few unfortunate individuals who have not contributed to the country's development.”
Recently, Gadji Gadjiev was also added to the “Peacemaker” database.
