A section of railway in the village of Saryozek in the Jetisu region was illegally sold to a private company for an amount barely reaching one percent of its actual value, Orda.kz reports.
According to the military prosecutor’s office, the court ruled that the transfer of the railway segment to a private company was unlawful. The property — valued at more than 75 million tenge — has been returned to state ownership.
The Saryozek Garrison Military Prosecutor's Office determined that between 2017 and 2019, a 619-meter section of access road was sold to JSC Transport Service Center for only 731,900 tenge. The transaction was completed through the Kerbulak District Land Commission, the Akimat, and the Land Relations Department, without obtaining approval from the Ministry of Defense and with multiple violations,
the court’s decision states.
The railway section had been on the balance sheet of military unit No. 12740 since 2010 and was used for transporting military cargo. The court found that the facility was of strategic importance and could not be held in private ownership.
It also revealed that the officials’ documentation referenced a military unit that does not exist.
The court annulled the land commission’s protocol, the akim’s order, the purchase and sale agreement, and the registration of ownership rights.
The defendants must comply with the ruling within one month of its entry into force.
