A decision in the Al-Beine custody case was announced this January, as Orda.kz reports.
The Specialized Interdistrict Court for Minors has reversed previous guardianship arrangements for the daughter of FlyDubai executive Al-Beine Zaripova.
We are pleased to share the long-awaited good news. On January 10, 2025, the Specialized Interdistrict Court for Minors overturned the decision of the guardianship authorities, the resolution of the interdepartmental commission for minors and the order of the Almaty education department, which determined the guardianship of Al-Beine's daughter in favor of the sister of Sabyrzhan Zaripov (Al-Beine's husband),lawyers reported.
The ruling marks the end of an 11-month legal battle during which Al-Beine's mother sought custody of her granddaughter. She was prevented from seeing or communicating with the child throughout this period.
According to the legal team, Al-Beine's estate includes substantial assets — real estate, vehicles, and financial holdings — with her parents and daughter listed as heirs.
The probable reason for the obstruction on the part of Sabyrzhan Zaripov's sister was the desire to control the child and Al-Beine's property, lawyers noted.
The custody dispute emerged following the homicide of Al-Beine Zaripova — who served as CFO of FlyDubai's partner company in Kazakhstan — on January 31, 2024, in Almaty.
Her husband, Sabyrzhan Zaripov, was convicted in the homicide case and received a 15-year sentence, which was upheld on appeal.
