The President thanked Vladimir Putin for the warm welcome and Russia’s fruitful work while chairing the CIS.
The head of state noted that further strengthening the potential of the CIS as an authoritative international organization created through the Alma-Ata Declaration of 1991 remains an absolute priority for Kazakhstan.
According to Toqayev, today's meeting is intended to give new impetus to the CIS's work in the context of geopolitical instability and a rapidly changing international situation.
The President stated that given the growing instability in the global economy, trade and economic cooperation should remain the focus of constant attention.
Qasym-Jomart Toqayev also discussed celebrating the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War next year. Concluding his speech, Toqayev supported the decision to have the Republic of Tajikistan chair the CIS in 2025 and hold the next summit in Dushanbe.
