Case of Karim Masimov and His Deputies Goes to Court

The Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Kazakhstan approved the indictment for the case against Masimov and his deputies.
It has been sent for consideration to the Specialized Interdistrict Court for Criminal Cases of Astana.
Masimov K.K. (ex-Chairman of the KNB) and Sadykulov A.T. (former deputy chairman of the KNB) have been brought to trial under articles of high treason (part 1 of article 175 of the Criminal Code), forcible seizure of power (part 3 of article 179 of the Criminal Code), abuse of power and official authority, which entailed grave consequences, in order to gain benefits and benefits for themselves and other persons (clause 3, part 4, article 362 of the Criminal Code).
Ergozhin D.E. (former deputy chairman of the KNB) for the violent seizure of power (part 3 of article 179 of the Criminal Code), abuse of power and official authority, which entailed grave consequences, in order to derive benefits and advantages for oneself and others (paragraph 3 of part 4 of art. 362 of the Criminal Code).
Osipov M.S. (former deputy chairman of the KNB), Akipov D.M. (former deputy head of the KNB department) and Bekmurat N.K. (former head of the KNB department) for various parts of Art. 362 of the Criminal Code.
The criminal case will be qualified as "top secret".
