Canadian company Silvercorp Metals Inc is exploring entry into the Kazakhstan market and is considering opening an office in the country, Orda.kz reports, citing Kazakh Invest.
A delegation from Silvercorp Metals, led by the company’s founder and CEO Rui Feng, visited Astana to discuss possible cooperation with Azamat Kozhanov, Deputy Chair of the Board of Kazakh Invest.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the potential for developing projects in the mining industry using international experience and modern approaches to sustainable subsoil use. The Canadian company showed interest in geological exploration and development of promising deposits of non-ferrous and precious metals in Kazakhstan,
Kazakh Invest stated.
Silvercorp Metals currently mines and processes precious metals in Latin America and China.
In 2025, the company reported revenue of $75.1 million.
This is not the first foreign investor to express interest in Kazakhstan’s precious metals sector.
Other companies that have recently announced plans to enter the market include Australia’s C29 Metals Limited and the UK’s Eurasia Mining PLC.
